Arsenal u-turn on Akinfeev signing

Arsenal Transfer Rumours: It has come to light today that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had arranged in January to sign goalie Igor Akinfeev from CSKA Moscow. Wenger is alleged to have u-turned on the deal at the midnight hour in order to as to give Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski some extra time to prove their worth. Wenger has stated this morning that that Fabianski is a “massive talent”

Sports website Sport.co.uk claims that Arsenal could re-enter negotiations to acquire Akinfeev in the summer period, as Russia are not playing in the 2010 South Africa World Cup.

If these Arsenal transfer rumours are legit, there will probably be many a peeved Arsenal supporter as gunners fans have been calling out for Wenger to spend some money to buy a top-class keeper since last summer.

    Wenger himself is confused on d right signings to make. However, all we want next season is at least one trophy.
